Situated on the Big Cypress
Bayou between picturesque cypress tree-filled Caddo Lake to the east and
Lake O the Pines, Jefferson, the Bed & Breakfast Capital of Texas,
has a population of 2,200. Homes and buildings dating from the 1840s are
still obvious today. Antique and gift shops line the downtown brick
streets, and the historic riverport is the perfect walk-around town. April
traditionally brings beautiful azaleas and comfortable spring
temperatures. You will hear the whistle of a steamboat during your
visit!
